CPLG's first office opened in London in 1974 as pioneers of the UK licensing business. CPLG UK Entertainment is headed up by Vickie O'Malley with a full time dedicated staff of 10 sales, marketing, design and retail specialists. CPLG UK's sales and marketing personnel have unrivalled knowledge and experience of and from the UK retail, manufacturing and licensing industries. The team has an in depth and sensitive understanding of the UK markets needs which sets us apart from other agencies. The often-imitated structure of the team forms one of the most widely respected licensing outfits in the UK.
As with all CPLG's subsidiaries, CPLG UK provides fully integrated and co-ordinated design, legal and accounting services. We have the strongest retail experience and relationships in the licensing trade and through our understanding of retailers' needs and abilities we match with to the needs of our licensors, licensees and promotional partners. We work with all levels within the company from Commercial Director to the POS planner in order to ensure that the vision is executed perfectly. As a result we are responsible for some of the most impactful retail campaigns of recent years:
- Spiderman 2 feature wall in Toys R Us
- Shrek The Third in Woolworths and Tesco
- WHS Smith/McDonalds Shrek 2 and 3 promotions in conjunction with Harper Collins and Penguin
- WWE in Smyths of Ireland
Our hugely successful re-launch of Sesame Workshop properties in the UK, demonstrates our strength in strategic planning and delivery of our vision for licensing and merchandising ranges targeting diverse consumer groups.
We are proud of our ability to find new licensees and open new licensed product categories such as Fabric Flavours high end Sesame Street and Horrid Henry kids ranges for Selfridges and Rocky dressing gowns with Basic Box.
Our annual Showcase event, held each autumn, is much anticipated and provides the ideal setting for us to present our properties and explore opportunities with all key UK licensee, promotional and retail partners.
