West Ham United is one of the best known names in English football with a history that stretches back to 1895. Football legends such as Sir Bobby Moore, Sir Trevor Brooking and Rio Ferdinand have all worn the iconic claret and blue shirt and the club has been an almost constant feature in the English Premier League since its inception in 1992.
The club's heritage is renowned in football and its name conjures up images of the crossed hammers, the first ever Wembley FA Cup final and Academy of Football and tales of how the West Ham United team ‘won' the 1966 World Cup.
In 2011 West Ham United were unanimously selected as the preferred club to move into the Olympic Stadium after the 2012 Games which will see their spectator capacity increase to 60,000 making the club's future an exciting prospect.
