"You and I are different, and that's why I like you". Deko Boko Friends (which literally translates as "various shapes and sizes") began life as a series of characters designed to teach children about difference and diversity in the world around them. The Japanese creators came from a background in TV advertising and wanted to develop a concept that helped children to develop tolerance and consideration. Using a simple cartoon mechanic, each of the 12 characters demonstrate a personality trait that children might encounter in their everyday lives.
