Football is the nation's favourite game and every month nearly seven million people participate in it at some level. Millions more go to matches and follow live games on television.

The Football Association (The FA), founded in 1863, is the governing body of football in England, committed to making it a positive and inclusive experience for everyone involved in the game.

It is responsible for the promotion and protection of the game at all levels and for the regulation of all of England's professional football clubs, including the men's and women's national teams.

The Three Lions is one of the most recognised brands in global licensing and this is demonstrated by the extensive licensing programme that has already been established by The FA in close conjunction with CLPG Sport.

Official licensed England Football product is now sold in most major grocers, departments and sports specialists in the country allowing fans across the spectrum of the sport to engage with the national team.

The breadth, depth and retail penetration of the licensing programme has not only had tremendous product and financial growth over recent years but has also seen the brand move from primarily tournament based to a year round offering.

As the national team under Fabio Capello starts its campaign for the UEFA EURO 2012 ChampionshipsTM there is still significant scope for brand extension and, the iconic Three Lions, synonymous with the finest players the country has, presents huge commercial possibilities for licensees.
